About Us

Airlie Oak Insurance Group CEO, Matt Ham, is born and raised in Wilmington, North Carolina. For 10 years, Matt was a successful agent with North Carolina Farm Bureau, consistently ranking as one of the top agents in the state. In 2024, Matt decided to re-engage his passion of working with clients and building a team culture and accepted the role as CEO of Airlie Oak Insurance Group. In that role, Matt is committed to clear communication with clients and a passion to be a valued member of the community.

Matt is also the Executive Director of a nonprofit called REDEFINED where he oversees faith-based community initiatives throughout the state.

Matt lives in Wilmington with his wife, Liz, and five children

Madi Powell, born and raised in Apex, NC brings valuable experience from her background in client service, insurance, and relationship-based advising.   

She is passionate about connecting with clients on a deeper level to truly understand their unique needs and provide tailored coverage solutions. Madi is dedicated to helping individuals and families feel confident in protecting what matters most, while building meaningfully, long- lasting relationships within her community. 

Outside of the office, Madi enjoys spending her time outdoors, going to the gym and trying new foods around Wilmington.

Will has been serving clients as an insurance agent for the past three years, with expertise in home, auto, and commercial insurance.  He is passionate about helping people protect what matters most and is deeply aligned with Airlie Oak Insurance Group’s strong commitment to community engagement and building lasting relationships.

Originally from Chapel Hill, Will relocated to Wilmington in 2017 to embrace coastal living and be closer to the water.  He is passionate about his alma mater The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he brings the same Tar Heel team spirit and dedication to his work.  Outside the office, Will enjoys spending time outdoors and with his two children, Widdy & James. 

An Eastern North Carolina native, Wiley is proud of where he's from and considers it an honor to protect the assets of his neighbors. He has worked in the insurance industry for 5 years, working across all lines of insurance. 

A UNCP and East Carolina alum, Wiley takes his allegiance to his alma maters very seriously. That same passion drives his commitment to his community and clients. He prides himself on identifying our clients’ needs and specific coverages. Wiley excels with his personal relationships and his acute attention to detail.  

Outside of the office, Wiley enjoys spending time with his wife, Madi, and their dog, Shep. 

A North Carolina Native, Sharon is a proud graduate of Western Carolina University. After college, she moved to Topsail Beach, met her husband Lance, and together they've been married 26 years.  They raised their two girls in the Topsail schools and owned and managed a successful restaurant in Surf City.

As a former small business owner, Sharon brings a strong work ethic and deep love for coastal communities.  With extensive knowledge of local beach and coastal properties, she is an insurance advocate dedicated to making the coverage process smooth, delivering exceptional customer service, and protecting her clients' futures. 

Sharon is excited to help families and businesses safeguard what matters most. Outside of the office, she enjoys beach time, cooking with family and neighbors, and volunteering for PORCH Pender-Topsail Island.

Originally from the Midwest, Todd has lived and worked in Southeastern North Carolina for nearly 20 years.

After a successful 15-year run in surgical medical devices industry, Todd has extensive experience in listening to the needs of his clients and providing quick solutions. The surgeons and facilities Todd served in New Hanover, Brunswick, and Pender Counties provided a foundational understanding of the area and the needs of its residents. Todd uses his consultative approach skills learned over 20 years in sales and client development experience to address your insurance needs, with attention to detail, to deliver the clients’ wishes and needs. 

Working out of Brunswick County, Todd has a sincere desire to serve as a local expert for all your insurance needs. 

Outside of work, Todd is an avid woodworker and golfer.
